September 20, 2022 – At the Ochiltree County Hospital District Board of Directors meeting for OGH, CEO Leroy Schaffner submitted his resignation effective September 30th, 2022. The Board of Directors appointed Kelly Judice, Chief Operating Officer as interim CEO, effective October 1, 2022.
Schaffner stated, “OGH is a great hospital and I have been privileged to serve as the CEO for the last three years. It seems like only yesterday.”
In an email to OGH staff Schaffner stated, “OGH will have a special place in my memory, as each of you are super great at your positions, please keep OGH the great place that it is today.” Schaffner plans to spend time with his wife, travel, golf, and spend time with their grandkids upon retirement. He will remain as a consultant to the district for six months following his resignation to assist where needed. Schaffner encouraged the staff to, “Support Kelly as she moves forward with OGH.” He is confident in Judice’s abilities as Chief Operating Officer and feels that she will make an easy transition into her role as interim CEO.
Kelly Judice started with Ochiltree General Hospital as an LVN in 2001. She has worked her way through various positions in the hospital, including RN, Trauma Coordinator, Chief Nursing Officer, as well as her current title as Chief Operating Officer. With over 21 years of experience at OGH, Judice looks forward to continuing the momentum those before her have demonstrated.
As interim CEO, Judice will manage a day-to-day activity within the hospital, oversee existing and future construction projects and hospital growth, supervision of the various department managers, facilitate District board meetings, etc. Judice says,” Schaffner has been a great leader and mentor to not only myself, but to many other directors at Ochiltree General Hospital for the last three and a half years.”
