Ochiltree General Hospital Updates COVID-19 Visitation Policy

Updated: Oct 7, 2021

July 19, 2021 – Effective Monday, July 19, 2021, Ochiltree General Hospital will be altering our Visitation Policy to safeguard our patients and community against a sudden rise in both COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) cases.

Patients who are COVID negative will be allowed one designated visitor. COVID positive minors will be allowed a designated parent or guardian, however, COVID positive patients over the age of 18 will unfortunately be unable to see visitors for their own safety as well as the safety of their loved ones.

When visiting patients at Ochiltree General please first stop at the temperature kiosk located in the front lobby. This kiosk will ask you several qualifying questions as well as take your temperature. If you are not running a fever, a sticker will be printed for you and you will be able to proceed with your visit.

Visitors will need to meet the following requirements:

1. Any individual with symptoms or who has been advised to self-quarantine because of

exposure should be prohibited from visiting.

2. ALL visitors are required to wear a mask while in the facility.

3. Visitors assume the liability of entering the facility where SARS-CoV-2 and other

communicable diseases are prevalent at this time.

4. No visitors under the age of 12 are permitted to visit.

Ochiltree General Hospital may revisit this policy at any time due to prevalence of COVID in the community or in our facility, staffing levels and PPE supplies. As always, we will remain diligent in the care, transmission and prevention of COVID-19.

If you have symptoms including fever, sore throat, cough or difficulty breathing, please call your primary care physician before going to the clinic or Emergency Department. They will instruct you on what to do next. Ochiltree General Hospital’s onsite Laboratory is offering 24-hour COVID-19 testing allowing patients to receive a result much faster than previous testing methods.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Assistant Chief Nursing Officer Jessica Russell, RN, at jrussell2@oghtx.com, Chief Operating Officer Kelly Judice, RN, RHCEOC, at kjudice@oghtx.com or call the hospital main line at 806-435-3606.

From our Obstetrics and Women’s Health services to the programs at The Seasons Assisted Living, our aim is to provide for you and your loved ones no matter the stage of life or need.
